Transformerless MV drives save space and installation costs compared to conventional drives with heavy transformers.

Low dv/dt allows unlimited cable lengths up to 15km and with ratings up to 6600V, cost reductions in cabling costs can be achieved over low voltage drive installations.

MV Soft Starts

Masterpower Medium Voltage Motor ‘Soft-Starter’ systems are available to 13.8kV or 15MW ratings.
Projects are individually engineered to meet the end users specific requirements.

MV Soft starts ruduce starting stresses on both the electrical supply and on the pumps and hydraulics. Once started, a bypass contactor eliminates harmonics and losses of the system.

When compared to autotransformer or 'korndorfer' starting, an electronic soft start provides superior control with ajustable start parameters and reduced size and weight.
