When power plants have their operating lives extended, secure power systems often dating from when the power stations were first commissioned now urgently need replaced to avoid the severe cost penalties of outages due to system failures.

Highly configured custom built solutions fit existing space constrained locations and satisfy individual customer needs such as extended autonomies, custom distribution, alarms or redundancy. Chassis design enables safe access to internal parts of the system without risk to personnel or the supported load.

Units have extended reliability with a lifetime of 15 to 30 years under the harsh environmental conditions of power plants. All products are backed up by a level of engineering support and project documentation as demanded by the industry.

To maximise secure power system battery availability and lifetime performance Masterpower have developed chargers, rectifiers and DC monitoring systems with state of the art diagnostics, alarm feaures and remote communication.

Our chargers & rectifiers are based on well proven thyristor technology for reliability, performance and lifetime maintainability. Masterpower's Intelligent Control Panel (ICP) is available as standard on all DC systems providing a text display and keypad interface for monitoring of critical system parameters, adjusting alarm levels and logging alarm events. The ICP can also perform fully automated battery string testing.

Comprehensive individual cell DC monitoring systems provide additional peace of mind that any battery performance issues can be spotted and acted upon before they cause an unplanned and costly outage. Remote diagnostics and testing is invaluable when offshore personnel numbers need kept to the minimum.

MV Drives Solutions

Medium voltage drives increase efficiency of FGD fans, Boiler feed pumps, FD/ID Fans, conveyors or many other large electrically driven loads.

With over fifty 3,300V to 11,000V drives in the field, Masterpower has the technology, products and installed-base experience to provide complete system solutions from project development and justification to project management, commissioning and comprehensive after-market support.

Transformerless MV drives save space and installation costs compared to conventional drives with heavy transformers.
